Armed gang arrested

CHENNAI: The city police apprehended an armed gang that was allegedly hired to commit a murder here early on Monday. Police said a team intercepted a car on the Teynampet-Alwarpet stretch and found six passengers with deadly weapons.
Interrogation revealed that they were hired by a liquor agent of Chengalpattu to commit a murder.
Three sharp-edged weapons and clubs were seized from them.
The accused Dayalan, Mani, Ganesan and Natarajan of Royapettah and Chandrasekharan and Charles of Teynampet were produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody.
