Sukumar Azhikode to inaugurate trust

KASARAGOD: Critic Sukumar Azhikode will inaugurate the Nanki Abdullah Master Memorial Trust, Kasaragod at a function at the municipal conference hall here on August 13 at 4 p.m.

Mr. Azhikkode would also present the inaugural award of the trust to writer and journalist K.M. Ahmed at the function, trust general secretary K.M. Abbas said at a press conference here on Monday.

Trust chairman B.K. Muhammad would preside over the function.

Sayyad K.S. Ali Thangal Kumbol would deliver the benedictory address. Those who are expected to speak at the function include P. Karunakaran, MP; C.H. Kunhambu and C.T. Ahmed Ali, MLAs and former MP Hamid Ali Shamnad.

Managing trustee N.A. Muhammad Ali will propose a vote of thanks. The office-bearers of the trust said they were planning to start a modern journalism institute at Kasaragod as the region lacked good journalism schools.

Abdullah Master was a journalist who worked for leading Malayalam and Kannada dailies here.
