Woman hacked to death

VIRUDHUNAGAR: M. Muthu (35), was hacked to death by her husband, Murugan near Aviyoor on Sunday evening. Frequent quarrels on domestic issues had led to the murder at Uppilikundu. The Aviyoor police have arrested the accused.

Unidentified persons broke into the residence of Villi Azhwar, an advocate, and decamped with around 80 sovereigns on Monday. The police said the advocate and his wife, Amuthavalli, were away at work, when the theft took place.

The Rajapalayam South police are investigating.
