Court dismisses plea against police

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by the Jageja Gujarat Sangarsh Samiti demanding action against the Gujarat police for not giving them permission to carry out a fast. A division bench dismissed the plea after the AGP submitted that the decision on the Samiti’s application, seeking permission to hold the fast, would be taken in the next three days. The Samiti is agitating against the “slow” probe into the deaths at spiritual leader Asaram Bapu’s ashram. — PTI
