Chess tournament

PUDUCHERRY: The Bobby Fischer Chess Club, affiliated to the Pondicherry State Chess Association, is conducting an open chess tournament on August 16 and 17.

According to a release, the club will conduct separate tournaments for boys and girls in the age group of nine and 16 years. Cash prizes up to Rs. 15,000 would be given to winners in the senior level and cups would be awarded to children.

The tournament would be held at Veeramamunivar Boys High School, Candappamudaliar Street, near Anna Thidal.
