Rupee falls further by 21 paise


MUMBAI: The rupee on Tuesday fell further by 21 paise to 42.37/38 against the dolar on short-covering of dollar despite fresh capital inflows and a fall in global crude oil prices.

In active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee resumed lower at 42.24/26 a dollar against Monday’s close of 42.16/17 and moved down further to close at 42.38.

Firm dollar overseas also pushed the rupee downwards. — PTI
