Water surplus

For the people: All six crest gates of the Gorur Dam in Hassan district have been opened to facilitate release of water. Gorur Dam Divisional Executive Engineer Srirangaraju said on Tuesday that 40,000 cusecs of water flowed into the reservoir as recorded at 5 p.m., and that 19,000 cusecs was let out. Of this, 15,000 cusecs was released into the river, while the remaining 4,000 cusecs of water was let out into the canals to meet drinking water and irrigation needs.
