Chandigarh: At least 30 people were arrested for allegedly serving beef at a function in Haryana’s Panchkula district, leading to a clash between two groups in which eight people sustained injuries. Tension gripped Raipur Rani township after one group opposed to beef’s preparation barged into the function venue where it was being allegedly served, police said. Panchkula’s SP Sandeep Khirwar said that 30 people had been arrested for violating provisions of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act.
