‘Janaspandana’ cells in three taluks of Udupi

Nalkur (Udupi district): Deputy Commissioner P. Hemalatha said on Tuesday that the district administration would open “Janaspandana” public grievance redressal cells in the three taluks of the district.
She was speaking after inaugurating a mass contact programme, “Janaspandana”, here.
Ms. Hemalatha said that the aim of the programme was to take the administration to the people. Many problems could be solved at the village level. The grievance redressal cells would look into the pending applications received during the mass contact programmes.
K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, said that there was drinking water scarcity at Nalkur. A Rs. 40-lakh drinking water project was being implemented at Jomlu Tirtha.
Efforts would be made to divert water to Nalkur. Multi-village schemes would be implemented in Nalkur, Kallianpur and Neelavar villages, he added.
Amenities
President of Nalkur gram panchayat Shantha Shetty said that Nalkur lacked amenities such as roads and a healthcare centre.
Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Commissioner K.N. Ramesh, president of the Udupi taluk panchayat Geeta Prabhu, Executive Officer Ramananda Nayak, Udupi Tahsildar E.B. Fernandes, Special Tahsildar Vaudeva Achar and other officials participated in the programme.
