Jagapathi Babu HYDERABAD: A film unit shooting a song sequence for ‘Bangaru Babu’, a Telugu movie starring Meera Jasmine and Jagapathi Babu was attacked in Pahalgam in the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday morning by people protesting the killing of Hurriyat Conference leader in a police firing. Just half-an-hour after the film shooting began in the morning, a large crowd of agitators zeroed in on the unit at Pahalgam. Slogan-shouting and stone-pelting followed forcing the unit members to scamper for safety. Security personnel, who were present managed to bring the situation under control, but not before a dozen vehicles were damaged. Howver, no one was injured. The film was being shot in a park under the direction of Jonnalagadda Srinivas as part of a schedule that began on July 4. Second attack

The attack was the second, with the first one taking place at Sonamarg on Sunday morning. The unit members were escorted back to their hotels under a heavy security screen. Shaken as they were, most of them had even shut off their mobile phones. The hero’s phone too, was switched off. A unit member who was coordinating travel arrangements for them to return home said, “We are unable to move anywhere and the security officers are all around us, ensuring our safety. We are just waiting to fly back to Hyderabad”, he said, adding that all of them were safe.
