KOCHI: The Self-Financing Engineering College Managements’ Association has said that admission for students to seats reserved under the government quota will be closed by 5 p.m. on August 17. G.P.C. Nayar, president of the association, said here on Tuesday that classes in colleges affiliated to the association would begin on August 18. Managements would admit students on their own, if there were vacant seats in the government category after August 17. He said the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations had earlier agreed to admit students in the seats reserved for the government before August 5. But the Commissioner violated the agreement by not giving instructions to the students to join the colleges concerned.
