Two killed in road accident

BHADRAVATI: K.R. Harish (55), marketing manager at the Mysore Paper Mills (MPM) here, and his cousin Umesh were killed and 13 persons injured in a road accident near Udhagamandalam on Monday, according to information received here. It is said that the accident occurred as the brakes of the van by which they were travelling failed while negotiating the last hairpin curve in the ghat section near Udhagamandalam. The injured, including Mr. Harish’s wife, have been admitted to a hospital in Coimbatore. They were returning to Bhadravati after attending a function at their relative’s house in Udhagamandalam.

Officers and ministerial staff of the MPM held a condolence meeting on Tuesday.
