Security stepped up

Staff Reporter

TIRUCHI: Tiruchi Rural Police have formed separate teams to check lodges and vehicles and engage in patrolling in their limits as a move to step up security for the Independence Day celebrations.

A detailed bandobast scheme has been drafted ahead of the Independence Day celebrations with instructions to police officers of all five sub-divisions in the rural limits on the security arrangements to be made as a precautionary measure.

Pickets would be posted in 109 places across the district including vital installations and places identified as vulnerable. Bomb detection and disposal personnel had been conducting checks in stations.
