He had no clue that he was attending to one of the auditors of hospitality industry 
GOOD SERVICE: Jothinathan Janakiraman. — TIRUCHI: That hard work and sincerity is bound to get noticed at some point of time is known. Some are lucky though. Like J. Jothinathan Janakiraman, an alumnus of the State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Thuvakkudi, currently employed as Food & Beverage Assistant at the world-famous Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur, rated as second best in Asia and fourth best in the world (Travel + Leisure, World’s Best Awards, Readers’ Poll 2008). Honour literally came calling early this year for Jothinathan in the form of Outstanding Employee Award of Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) when he was only a few months into the job. A multinational company, LQA tests the quality of service-providers, especially in hospitality industry. Unidentified guestAuditors of the company visit and stay in hotels without revealing their identity for impartially grading the service in accordance with a set standard. Little did Jothinathan know that the table he was servicing on April 3, 2008, was occupied by LQA auditors. With his exemplary service, Jothinathan was able to attract the attention of Mr. Lee and his wife in the busy evening atmosphere. LQA called him with information of the award a few days later. Unique achievementInstitute Principal L.V. Kumar termed it a unique achievement. Gladdened by the award, Oberoi has offered him a three-day complimentary stay at any one of its hotels in India.
