Regulatory orders

City Police Commissioner, K.C. Mahali has clamped regulatory orders under section 41 of the Madras City Police Act prohibiting public assemblies, dharnas, demonstrations and processions without prior permission.

Regulatory orders would be in force in all the 15 police station limits in the city till August 25.

It is aimed at averting breach of public peace and tranquillity by persons belonging to different political, social, religious and economic ideologies, according to a press release issued here.
