Bomb hoax in schools

CHENNAI: Four schools in the city received bomb threats early on Tuesday.

After conducting through searches, police declared the threat as hoax.

According to police sources, a call was received at the police control room from an unidentified caller who warned of explosions in two schools at Raja Annamalaipuram.

Students were not allowed to enter the classrooms as a safety measure and police conducted searches with metal detectors.

Similar threats were received for two more schools located in Kilpauk and on the Poonamallee High Road.

Police searched the school premises.

The call was traced to a public call office (PCO) at Abhiramapuram.

Further investigations are on, police added.
