2 students held
Two engineering students of a city college were arrested on charges of breaking open a showcase in a hotel and stealing four watches that had been kept on display.
It is learnt that a couple of days ago, the two had gone to the hotel for dinner late at night.
They had reportedly broken open the showcase with a fork and taken away four expensive watches.
Police examined records of bill payment and found that a bank debit card had been used.
They traced the card to a person in Udupi in Karnataka district and found that it was used by one of the family members.
Police tracked down the accused, Mohammed Umar (21) and Yogesh (20), and recovered all four watches.
Each of the watches was worth over Rs. 1 lakh.
