Soli Sorabjee is lawyers’ association chief

New Delhi: The former Attorney-General, Soli Sorabjee, was unanimously re-elected president of the United Lawyers Association at its meeting on August 8.

Other office-bearers elected are: S.K. Dholakia, Jitendra Sharma, Raju Ramachandran, R. Venkataramani, A.K. Ganguly, R.S. Suri, Keshav Dayal and Bishwajit Bhattacharya as vice-presidents; B.K. Pal and Sandeep Narainas general secretaries; Ved Prakash Sharma and Rajkumar Gupta as secretaries and Narain as treasurer.

The meeting passed a resolution condemning the serial bomb blasts in Jaipur, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Surat and called upon the Central and State governments to take strong and effective measures to ensure that such attacks did not recur.
