This Day That Age
The first number of the Indian National Bibliography, one of the major projects undertaken by the Ministry of Scientific Research and Cultural Affairs to aid scholarship and literary development in the country, is being released on August 15. The bibliography is an endeavour to give a systematic and exhaustive list of all the books published in India, in English as well as in the languages recognised by the Constitution. It is published by the Central Reference Library of the Government of India, now situated in the National Library, Calcutta. The National Bibliography is an authoritative bibliographical record of current publications in Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi. Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu received at the National Library.
