NEW DELHI: Population Services International (PSI), a non-governmental organisation, in partnership with Star Health and Allied Insurance Company and the Karnataka Network for Positive People (KNP+), has introduced India’s first-ever group health insurance plan for People Living with HIV (PLHIV). More than 250 PLHIV were insured under the scheme launched in six districts of Karnataka on Wednesday. This innovative initiative is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Project Connect, a programme designed to build Public-Private Partnerships to combat HIV and tuberculosis in India.
