Batala: Three youths were on Wednesday arrested here for allegedly threatening a jeweller and demanding a ransom of three lakh rupees from him, police said. Amit, Bunty Sharma and Gautam threatened the latter’s employer Ravi Shanker of dire consequences if he failed to cough up Rs.3 lakh for raising a Babbar Khalsa memorial, Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Arora said. Police arrested the trio after Shanker lodged a complaint. The sim card from which they made the call was also recovered.
