PUDUCHERRY: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting would be held here on August 18 to take stock of the situation in politics and administration in the Union Territory. President of the Pradesh Congress Committee A.V. Subramanian told The Hindu that the party high command had asked him to convene the meeting at a hotel in Kalapet at 3 p.m. According to party sources, AICC observers would participate in the meeting, which was aimed at ending the stalemate in the administration owing to differences between the Chief Minister and the Ministers. Sources close to Chief Minister N. Rangasamy said that though he was preparing to meet the AICC observers in Delhi, he had to drop his visit in view of the high command’s decision to hold the CLP meeting in Puducherry.
