BHUBANESWAR: Jajpur police on Wednesday claimed to have nabbed one suspected member of CPI (Maoist), a naxalite outfit, and handed him over to Jagatsinghpur police that formally arrested the “extremist”. Pratima Das alias Prachi (32) was intercepted by Jajpur police with a US foreign national David Pheug in Kalinga Nagar area. Jajpur police said these two persons sped away in their car as soon as they spotted a police jeep following their vehicle. Since there was no case pending against Pratima Das in Jajapur district, she was handed over to police of Jagatsinghpur district where a case pertaining to waging war against State was registered in her name, Kishore Mund, inspector of Kalinga Nagar police station, said. The US foreign national had been let off.
