Change in routes of some MTC buses

CHENNAI: Metropolitan Transport Corporation has announced changes in some of the bus routes in and around T.Nagar with effect from Friday. The changes are being made in view of the commissioning of the flyover on South Usman Road on Thursday.

According to a press release, buses on route numbers 11 and 13 from T. Nagar terminus would take Burkit Road, Thanikachalam Road and Dr.Nair Road and then turn right to G.N. Chetty Road and proceed on the usual route. In the return direction, they would take the usual route up to Sun Theatre and then turn left to North Boag Road and then turn right to Vijayaragavachari Road to proceed via Dr. Nair Road, Thanikachalam Road, Burkit Road to reach the terminus.

Route numbers 11A, 12, M12A, 13B, 45D, 29B, 29N passing through T. Nagar will be operated via Burkit Salai, Thanikachalam Road and turn right to Thyagaraya Road and proceed on the usual course. On the return direction the buses would be operated on the same course.

Route numbers 5T, 49, 49A and 597 (Cut service) from T. Nagar Terminus would be operated through Burkit Road, Venkatnarayana Road, Nageswara Salai to reach Duraisamy Subway and then follow the usual route. In the return direction from the Duraisamy Subway the buses would take the same route.

Route numbers M23, 27C, M27, PP49, 49G and 70P from T.Nagar Terminus would be operated through the new flyover up to Vivek and then take the usual course. In the return direction, they would be operated on the same route.

Route numbers 10G, 47A, 47/47B, 47D, M47G, A47, M147A, M147B, M147C, M147S and M10 stopping at the T.Nagar bus stop would take the flyover up to Vivek and take a right turn to Bazullah Road and turn left to Thirumalai Pillai Road and then take the usual route. In the return direction to T. Nagar, they would proceed up to T.P.Road, turn right into Habibullah Road and take a left to North Usman Road to reach Vivek and then use the flyover to reach the terminus.

Route numbers 11G, 11H, 12C, 12G, 12G Extension proceeding towards K.K. Nagar would be operated via Pondy Bazaar, Thyagaraya Road, Nageswara Salai and take the Duraisamy Subway to take the usual route. In the return direction buses from K.K. Nagar will be operated on the usual route up to Duraisamy Subway and from there on Nageswara Road, Bashyam Road and G.N. Chetty Road, take a right turn to Dr.Nair Road and take a left turn to Thyagaraya Road to proceed on the usual course.

Route numbers 12B, 12B Extension, M12B, 12H, 12H Extension proceeding towards Vadapalani will be operated up to Pondy Bazaar on the usual course, then turn right at Dr.Nair Road and left to proceed through Bazullah Road and then turn right to North Usman Road and then follow the usual course. In the return direction (from Vadapalani) the buses would be operated on the same route up to Vivek, take a left turn to Bazullah Road, take a right turn to Ragavaiah Road, turn left to G.N. Chetty Road, turn right to Dr.Nair Road and left to Thyagaraya Road, before taking the usual route.
