Vijayashanti NEW DELHI: Film actor and president of Talli Telangana Party (TTP) Vijayashanti urged all the pro-Telangana parties like Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and the newly-formed Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) to join hands for realising separate Telengana. She even suggested that the parties could jointly fight the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh in alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as senior BJP leader L.K. Advani had assured her that the BJP was for the creation of a separate Telangana. She claimed that Mr. Advani had even told her that the issue would be discussed in the NDA meeting soon and resolution passed in favour of Telangana. Ms. Vijayashanti, who was talking to mediapersons here after calling on Mr. Advani and senior BJP leader M. Venkiah Naidu, said she was confident that the BJP would keep up its promise. Mr. Advani was very strong in his views and positive and TTP had no doubts about his assurance. “The coming together of ‘Telengana’ parties would prevent splitting of pro-Telengana votes and with this unity the aim of getting a separate State could be achieved fast,” she said. When pointed out that the TRS might go with the new front launched by the TDP-Left combine, she wondered how it would be possible as CPI (M) was strongly opposing the division of Andhra Pradesh.
