Sensex extends losses
MUMBAI: Extending its losses for the second day, the Bombay Stock Exchange sensitive index (Sensex) shed over 119 points on Wednesday as a host of factors, domestic as well as foreign, dampened investor sentiment.
The Sensex, after resuming lower, closed at 15093.12 against the previous close of 15212.13. The 50-share Nifty also declined by 23.20 points to 4,529.05.
Rupee tumbles 27 paise
The rupee tumbled further by 27 paise to close at 42.64/65, against the dollar on Wednesday. In a quiet trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee resumed trading at 42.57/59 a dollar from its previous close of 42.37/38 and later dropped further to close at 42.64/65. — PTI
