Railway staffer killed during robbery bid

NEW DELHI: A railway employee was killed and two sustained injuries during a robbery bid at Sangam Vihar here on Tuesday.

According to the police, Visram, a railway driver, was returning home along with his two colleagues when two young men armed with knives accosted them and asked them to hand over the money and other belongings near the Tughlaqabad railway station around 9-30 p.m. When the three resisted, the robbers attacked them with knives and inflicted serious injuries.

The victims were taken to Batra hospital where Visram was declared brought dead.
