BANGALORE: Janata Dal (Secular) State president Merajuddin Patel has said that those leaders who had parted ways “are welcome to join the party.”

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of the State-level conference of office-bearers of the women’s wing of the party here on Wednesday, Mr. Patel said: “I have spoken to D.T. Jayakumar and P.G.R. Sindhia. Mr. Jayakumar has indicated that he would re-join the party soon, while Mr. Sindhia’s reply is awaited. I have also sent word to former Minister B.B. Ningaiah to return to the party.”

Mr. Patel said he wanted former Minister C. Chennigappa and his son C. Gowrishankar to remain in the party. Mr. Patel said the party was getting ready for the byelections to the Legislative Assembly.
