This Day That Age
The President has awarded certificates of honour to four eminent scholars in Sanskrit and one in Arabic. The Sanskrit scholars are: Shri Vidhusekhara Bhattacharaya, Pandit Giridhar Sharma Chaturvedi, Dr. Pandurang Vaman Kane and Sri Sreepada Krishnamurthi Sastri. The Arabic scholar is Dr. Mohammad Zubair Siddiqui. The scheme of awards introduced this year is intended to accord recognition to eminent Sanskrit, Arabic and Persian scholars and to encourage study in these languages.
