ADILABAD: The ‘no confidence’ motion against the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) Adilabad Zilla Parishad Chairman Ramesh Rathod lapsed on Thursday due to lack of quorum. Collector Ahmad Nadeem, who had presided over the special meeting convened for taking up the motion, declared it as lapsed after waiting for the mandatory one hour from the official time of start of the meeting. Logical endWith this, the activity that was initiated by the TDP ZP Territorial Constituency members about a month back came to its ‘logical’ end. As per the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, there will no further scope of dislodging the Chairman through a no confidence motion. Soon after giving a notice of intention for the no confidence motion, most of the 32 ZPTCs belonging to the TDP had proceeded to the ‘camp’ apparently organised by the ZP Chairman for consolidating his position. Mr. Ramesh Rathod subsequently joined the camping ZPTC members as is evident from the recent photographs of the group in front of the Taj Mahal that were published in vernacular dailies. The camping members did not turn up at the meeting hall at the required time that resulted in lack of quorum.
