Identity cards for farmers

ERODE: Farmers who wish to sell their produce in the farmers’ market (Uzhavar Sandhai) in Periyar Nagar have been asked to submit application forms.

A release from the Department of Horticulture says the farmers have to submit three stamp-size photographs along with proof of cultivation.

The application form is available at the Agriculture Extension Office in Erode, the release says and adds that the farmers can also get an identity card for one of their family members who would represent them at the market in their absence.

The application is available free of cost.
