‘Heartbreaking’

Udupi Staff Correspondent writes:

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has also mourned the deaths.

In a press release on Friday, Ms. Gandhi said, “I am deeply grieved to learn of the terrible tragedy involving a school van carrying small children near Mangalore in Dakshina Kannada on August 14 morning.

“It is heartbreaking that many young lives were lost in this unfortunate accident.

“At a time like this, words are of little consolation, but I want the families of all those who have lost their loved ones to know that I share their pain and sorrow with all my heart.

I pray that they may find strength to bear this loss,” Ms. Gandhi said.
