Congress told to step down in Karimnagar, Warangal

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has decided to give up the post of Zilla Parishad chief in Nizamabad district ahead of the no-confidence motion which is proposed to be taken up against the incumbent G. Anita on Monday.

Ms. Anita will submit her resignation to the Collector on Saturday. The decision was taken by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao following a meeting with Ms. Anita and other TRS leaders from Nizamabad here on Friday evening. The meeting discussed the withdrawal of support to TRS by the Congress and the steps the former was supposed to take in the circumstances.

Briefing reporters later, Mr. Rao asked the Congress to step down from the ZP chief’s post in Karimnagar and Warangal where it was elected with the support of TRS.
