Demand for release of maintenance grants

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Scheduled Castes Aided and Unaided Educational Institutions’ Federation (Chalavadi Group) has demanded the release of maintenance grants to educational institutions that were due since academic year 1991-92.

The Federation president B.M. Rajgopal told presspersons here on Thursday that the institutions are facing a financial crunch. “Prior to 1991, educational institutions were getting maintenance grants. We appeal to the Government to release the grants from 1991-92,” he said.
