Mother, daughters commit suicide

Dhenkanal: Upset over failure to make ends meet, a woman along with her two minor daughters today allegedly committed suicide at Thakurapal village in Orissa’s Dhenkanal district.

Forty-year-old Kamalini Parida along with her two daughters Rita (14) and Gita (9) allegedly committed suicide by consuming pesticide, police said. Kamalini was deserted by her husband Tarinisen Parida some time back. While Tarinisen was staying in Bhubaneswar with another woman, Kamalini had to face difficulties in managing the family of three, they said. Police have recovered pesticide samples from the house and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. -PTI
