Furniture of TNSTC office attached

PUDUKOTTAI: A Fast Track court on Thursday ordered attachment of computer and furniture of the Regional Office of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation here for having failed to disburse the compensation ordered by the court to the widow of a road accident victim.
The petitioner, Adakki, said her husband Pitchai was killed in a road accident at Nayackarpatti near Aranthangi in March 2003. Though the court had ordered a compensation of Rs.77,000, the Corporation did not comply with it.
After she filed a petition, the court ordered an enhanced compensation of Rs.1.16 lakh, inclusive of interest on the earlier compensation.
Since the compensation was yet to be disbursed, she recently filed a petition seeking a directive to the Corporation to expedite the payment.
