Fatal fall for student

DHARMAPURI: An engineering student from Coimbatore was killed when he fell between the train and track at Bommidi Railway station on Friday.

The Railway Police said that Manikandan (18) of Pappiredipatti, studying in a college in Coimbatore, was proceeding to Bommidi in the Inter-City express train.

Before the train stopped he reportedly tried to alight.

He slipped and sustained a serious head injury. He died on way to hospital. The Salem Railway Police are investigating the case.
