CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced on Saturday that all those boxers of Haryana, who would win medal in their respective categories in the Olympics at Bejing, would be offered the job of Deputy Superintendent of Police. Mr.Hooda also announced that boxers of Haryana, who would reach the quarter final event of their respective weight in the Olympics, would be given a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each. On Friday, Akhil Kumar, hailing from Bhiwani, had defeated Russian world champion Sergey Vodopyanov to reach quarter final in the 54 kg weight category and on Saturday Jatinder Kumar, also belonging to Haryana advanced to the quarter finals of boxing competitions of flyweight category. Both Mr.Akhil Kumar and Mr.Jatinder Kumar would receive the cash reward of Rs.25 lakh each, he reiterated. While congratulating both these boxers, Mr.Hooda urged all the participating players hailing from Haryana to concentrate on their performance and give their best. The Haryana Government has already announced a Rs. 2 crore-reward to those players of Haryana who would win gold medal at the Olympics. Similarly, the winner of silver medal would get Rs. 1 crore.
