Sukhbir Singh Badal’s guards killed in car accident

Amritsar: Two security guards of Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal were killed in a road accident, official sources said on Saturday.

Gursewak Singh and Rajinder Singh died on the spot when the Mitsubishi Pajero they were travelling in collided head on with a Delhi-bound chartered bus at Devidaspura village in Jandiala, nearly 15 km from the city, around 11.30 p.m. on Friday night.

A constable, Baljit Singh, who was accompanying the duo, was also injured in the accident.

He has been admitted in Guru Nanak Dev Government Hospital.

The three were part of an advance police party from Chandigarh.

Both vehicles were wrecked in the crash.

The driver of the bus is absconding.

The Jandiala police have registered a case against him under Section 304-A, 427 and 279, sources said. — PTI
