St. Thomas HSS in semifinals

Kottayam: St. Thomas HSS (Kozhencherry) and St. Ephreme’s (Mannanam) moved into the boys’ semifinals of the fifth Lourdean Trophy all-Kerala inter-School basketball tournament at the Lourdes Public School, here on Saturday.

In the quarterfinals, St. Thomas defeated Gideepam HSS (Kottayam) 67-40 after leading 42-28 at half-time.

St. Ephreme’s defeated Kristhu Jyothi HSS (Chhettipuzha) 33-18 to reach the semifinals.

In the girls’ section, SN Trust HSS (Kollam) thrashed Kristhu Jyothi HSS (Chettipuzha) to reach the semifinals.

The results: Boys: Quarterfinals: St. Ephreme’s HSS (Mannanam) bt Kristhu Jyothi HSS (Chettipuzha) 33-18; Girideepam HSS (Kottayam) 67 (Lijin John Ninan 17, Jithu Varghese 14) bt St. Thomas HSS (Kozhencherry) 29 (Arun Alexander 10, Richard Baby 10).

Girls: Quarterfinals: SN Trust HSS (Kollam) bt Kristhu Jyothi HSS (Chettipuzha) 33-8.
