THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: S. Karan and K. Bhuvana won a double each in the Nutking-AITA junior National tennis tournament at the TTC courts on Saturday. Karan won the boys’ under-16 singles title after scoring a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 win over Monish Rajer. He also won the doubles title partnering Nikhil Reddy. Mohammed Yunus won the boys’ under-14 title. Bhuvana won the girls’ under-16 title after defeating Neena Reddy 6-3, 6-2. She also won the under-16 doubles title along with Neena Reddy. Sai Samitha won the girls’ under-14 singles title. The results (finals only): Boys: U-16: Singles: S. Karan bt Monish Rajer 6-7, 7-6, 6-3. Doubles: S. Karan & Nikhil Reddy bt Sai Reddy & Jude Raymond 6-2, 7-6. U-14: Singles: Mohammed Yunus bt Rithwik Anand 6-3, 6-1. Doubles: Supreeth & Thushar Mandelekar bt S. Kishan & Nishanth Antony 6-0, 4-6, 10-8. Girls: U-16: Singles: K. Bhuvana bt Neena Reddy 6-3, 6-2. Doubles: K. Bhuvana & Neena Reddy bt Iska Akshara & Swetha Sreehari 6-0, 7-6. U-14: Singles: Sai Samhitha bt Iska Akshara 6-3, 6-3.
