NEW DELHI: A 31-year-old man has been arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly robbing and killing an employee working with a mobile phone showroom at Shakarpur here in July. The police claim to have seized a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol from him. Acting on a tip-off that a criminal involved in a murder-cum-robbery would come to Karala village to meet someone, the police laid a trap and arrested him on Friday. He was identified as Deepak Soni. Three other accused in the case, Hari Kishan, Yogesh and Arun Sharma were arrested by the Special Staff of the East Delhi earlier this month. During interrogation, Deepak purportedly confessed to having robbed and murdered Mahesh Kapoor. According to the police, he belongs to Babloo gang . The gang is involved in several cases of murder, robbery and extortion in Northern India. Some of the gang members were previously killed in encounters with the police in Delhi and Uttarakhand. Accused Deepak is the elder brother of Babloo, who is presently lodged in jail. Deepak was arrested for the first time in 1999.
