NILAMBUR: A three-year-old girl died and several others of a family were hospitalised after apparently consuming poisoned food at Pothukallu near here on Friday night. Jasna, daughter of A. Zulfikar belonging to Kodalipoyil near Pothukallu, died on the way to hospital while six others, including five children, were admitted to a private hospital at Kozhikode in critical condition. All of them belonged to a joint family of five brothers. The police said the children were served a banana curry for dinner on Friday evening. The curry had been prepared for lunch. They developed giddiness and vomiting soon after eating the banana curry and were rushed to a private hospital at Manjeri, from where they were referred to a hospital in Kozhikode.
