Sangareddy: Minister for Major Industries and Sugar J. Geetha Reddy in her Independence Day speech here on Friday said that 2.41 lakh farmers in the district benefited from the farm loan waiver scheme. On a whole, loans worth Rs. 3.43 crore were waived and another 29,232 farmers benefited from the one-time settlement programme. She said that the National crop insurance programme has been implemented in the district for maize crop and at least one lakh farmers will benefit from the insurance programme. Similarly 8,416 farmers received the Rytu Bandhu card. On the industrial front, Geetha Reddy said that the district has received an investment of Rs. 67.63 crore during the ongoing financial year. She informed that more than 1,000 unemployed youth found jobs in mid-sized to large industries. EntrepreneursShe said that entrepreneurs belonging to weaker sections have been allotted plots to set up industries in Muppireddy of Toopran and Karkapatla of Mulugu mandals. She announced that the State government has approved the proposal for another 1.15 lakh Indiramma houses for the district. She said that only 29,000 houses were built under the first two phases of the scheme, out of the targeted 1.5 lakh houses.
