The finale: ZP Chairperson G. Anitha Rajeswar Reddy (TRS) handing over her resignation papers to Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu in Nizamabad on Saturday. NIZAMABAD: The Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadari Anitha Rajeswar Reddy (TRS), accompanied sent in her resignation to district Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu here on Saturday. Talking to The Hindu, Ms. Anitha said the four members of Telanganan Rashtra Samithi will not attend the general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad to be held on August 18, to take up discussion on the ‘no-confidence’ motion slated to be moved against her by Congress members to depose her. She maintained that as the Congress gave notice for the ‘no-confidence’ motion against her, it had no moral right to continue in the ZP Chairpersons’ post in Warangal and Karimnagar districts, where the Congress secured these posts with the support of the TRS. Emerging from the Collector’s chamber earlier, she said, it was shameful on the part of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Pradesh Congress Committee chief D. Srinivas and Minister for Power Mohd. Ali Shabbir to support the ‘no-confidence’ motion against a woman chairperson. Meanwhile, the Collector informed that he accepted the resignation submitted by the chairperson. As per the Panchayat Raj Act, the general body meeting would be held as usual on August 18, and he himself would have to preside over it, he said. Vice-chairman (Congress) Taher Bin Hamdan would have to act as the chairman (in-charge).
