Rubber prospects bright: experts

Kochi: India’s first Rubber Summit & Dinner with its focus on making India a global rubber power was inaugurated here by Dr. Hidde P. Smit, Secretary General, International Rubber Study Group (IRSG). Mr. Smit said prospects of natural rubber are bright in the near future with the rubber consumption on the rise across the globe.

The Summit & Dinner organised by Rubber Asia, in association with the Rubber Board (India) and All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA) was attended by about 300 rubber industry experts and industry leaders from India and abroad.

Sajen Peter, Chairman, Indian Rubber Board, who presided over the inaugural session, said India has all the necessary potential to emerge as a global rubber power.
