Bio-diesel plants to be set up

KARAIKAL: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Cauvery Asset here is concentrating on promoting renewable sources of energy and thinking of setting up bio-diesel plants and wind farms in the region, said K. Anjaneyalu, Group General Manager, ONGC Cauvery Asset, Karaikal, on Friday.

Addressing the Independence Day function after hoisting the national flag at the ONGC campus here, Mr. Anjaneyalu said that the ONGC was looking beyond the hydrocarbons for ensuring energy security and planning to promote renewable energy sources by setting up eco-friendly and economically viable bio-diesel units and wind farms.

He said that the ONGC Cauvery Asset had achieved good progress in gas and oil production and exceeded its target in oil and gas production and also in sale of gas.
