Solution to water problem sought

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Residents of Makaan compound, who had complained of being supplied contaminated water, are a relieved lot. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has plugged the leak, and the residents are now getting clean water.

“But the residents want the BWSSB to solve the problem permanently. Every time they complain, the BWSSB undertakes some repair work that will help temporarily. After a few months, the problem crops up again,” M. Pari, former councillor of Bharatinagar said.

BWSSB officials said that work on changing the pipelines had started on Thursday. “We have started the ground work. We have not taken up digging because of the rain,” a senior official said.
