A housewife’s plight

Veruthe Oru Bharya

A simple tale told in an ordinary manner, the film revolves around the plight of a middle-class housewife who has to do all the household chores alone ungrudgingly. Her husband does not give due recognition to her services.

Akku Akbar has directed the film. K. Girishkumar has written the script.

Sugunan (Jayaram) is an honest overseer in the Electricity Department. He lives with his wife, Bindu (Gopika), and daughter, Anjana (Niveditha). Sugunan is bothered only about official matters. Bindu has to do all the household chores.

Unable to bear any further, Bindu leaves the house. Now, Sugunan is in a dilemma in the absence of his wife. He does not know how to manage the house or take care of the daughter.

Shyam Dharman has set to music Vayalar Sarathchandra Varma’s lyrics. Unni Menon and Biju Narayanan have sung a couple of melodies. Shaji’s camerawork in the opening scenes is commendable.

Salavudeen has produced the film under the banner of Cinema Kottaka.

G. Jayakumar
