HEALTH RALLY: An awareness rally on communicable diseases organised by the health club of Al-Falah English High School, West Kaipuram, in Palakkad district.

The health club of Al-Falah English High School, West Kaipuram, Palakkad, in coordination with the Thiruvegapura grama panchayat launched an environmental awareness campaign in the school from July 28 to August 2.

A health awareness programme was organised in association with the primary health centre (PHC) at the school, giving emphasis on measures to prevent chikungunya, dengue and leptospirosis. Students made colourful posters highlighting the topic and visited 477 houses in the neighbouring areas. They also distributed pamphlets to educate the people on the dangers of the diseases and suggested control measures.

The Newspaper in Education (NIE) programme of The Hindu was launched at Floreat International School at Valiyaparamba, in Malappuram district recently.

Mohammed Musthafa, Principal of the school, launched the programme. The school has selected speaking and reading skills from the language skills module and ‘Secret of Success’ from the ‘Me and Myself’ module.
